I arrange my assistance through Kooperativet SMIL and I am proud to recruit our staff to Kooperativet SMIL, which cares for our personnel and has a good focus on both staff, users, and assignments. SMIL, the Cooperative Organization for Malmö Independent Living, has organized personal assistance for children and adults since 1990. We provide personal assistance for individuals residing in Malmö and surrounding areas and are a cooperative without economic profit interest!

Of course, SMIL has a collective agreement with Fremia/Kommunal, which gives personal assistants access to occupational pension. We offer generous wellness grants and provide staff with opportunities for training that is useful in their profession as personal assistants. SMIL's keywords are independence, freedom, and good personnel care.

We are an IfA-approved assistance provider, with roots in the movement that once contributed to making personal assistance a possibility in Sweden. About me:

I am a 29-year-old guy with cerebral palsy, living in Bunkeflostrand in my own part of a large house.

I need help with everything in daily life, including personal care, food and tube feeding, assistance with transfers and training. Washing, keeping track of my belongings and aids are also included.

I communicate using Bliss/widget communication board, sound, and body language, i.e., AAC. You will be my support in contacts with others. Some days I attend day activities where you will be my personal assistant.

I enjoy planning and coming up with ideas. Music is a big interest; I like to go to concerts, theater, dance, and sports events. I also enjoy being outdoors in nature and in the city. You may also support me on trips, camps, etc.

You must have patience and an interest in helping me develop my communication, including through the computer. A prerequisite is that you speak Swedish well and understand nuances in the language. You should be attentive and empathetic to my needs and desires.

You need to be organized, calm, and patient, but also proactive, able to take initiative, and enjoy being active during your workday. Someone who sees opportunities instead of obstacles. Personal chemistry is, of course, important, and you should be in good physical shape. It would be great if you play an instrument. A driver's license is a plus. Non-smoker. We have pets in the house.

We prefer someone with experience from similar jobs and preferably education in care and nursing, pedagogy, social work, or similar.

Working hours and schedule:

We have a rolling 4-week schedule, with working hours that may look like the following:

• Weekdays:
• Day shift: 07:30–16:10
• Evening shift: 16:00–20:10
• Night shift: 20:00–07:40
• Friday and weekend:
• Day shift: 07:30–16:10
• Evening shift: 16:00–21:10
• Night shift: 21:00–09:10

Double assistance may occur if needed.

You will receive guidance and training continuously so that we both feel secure. Start date as soon as possible by agreement.
